This immigration document acknowledges that the Quebec government has approved your request to study in the province as an international student. The application requires that you fill out a form detailing the program and school you intend to study in, basic information about yourself, passport numbers, and other relevant details.
2. Afterwards, like all other provinces and territories in Canada, you are then required to apply through the federal government to obtain your study permit. The federal government always makes the decision for whether or not to issue a study permit, taking into account medical and criminal inadmissibility.
The Training Visa – Subclass 407 Visa allows Australian companies and government agencies to sponsor applicants to participate in occupational training activities and professional development activities.
Firstly, when you are accepted to your host institution in Quebec, you are required to apply directly to the Quebec government to obtain a Quebec Acceptance Certificate (CAQ – certificat d’acceptation du Québec). Genuine Temporary Entrant is a written statement that international students must provide to indicate that they have honest intentions to study in Australia and not to stay back and apply for Permanent Residency. The idea behind the GTE is to convince the Department of Home Affairs that applicants are using the student visa program for educational purposes only. GTE requirement does not intend to exclude those international students who, after studying in the country, develop specific skills required by Australia and then apply for permanent residency.
The GTE statement is a personal statement addressing the GTE requirements. This statement should be in English and not beyond 300 words. It should address your reasons for undertaking higher studies in Australia.
You need to include the following set of information in your GTE statement: Previous study records : You need to submit past-year academic transcripts showing the record of qualifications achieved. Along with this, you need to disclose the name of the education provider(s), length of study and related certificates.
A gap in the academic journey : You need to state valid reasons if you have discontinued your studies for a year or so. Please don’t be worried about the gap, as you can always share your reason if needed.
Current employment : Give complete details of your current employment (if any), including the name of your current employer, company address, period of employment, details of your position, and name and contact details of someone who can validate the same.
Ties to the home country or country of residence : You need to establish strong ties to the home country by providing evidence of family, financial or social relationships. You also need to exhibit strong ties with your country of residence, as it will convey that you have incentives for returning home.
The economic situation in your home country : You need to capture the economic situation in your country of residence. For this, submission of the following documents is necessary:
# Share documents related to employment or business (if any) for 12 months before applying.
# Provide them with any employment offers that you may have received
# Bank statements or income tax return
Employment in a third country : The third country will be a country other than your home country and Australia. Work-related documents, including potential job offers, salary and additional benefits related to the third country, will also be produced.
All claims made in the GTE statement must be supported with genuine evidence. At last, close the GTE statement with a personal declaration. After submitting the GTE documents, the concerned authorities of Australia will review them. Once the authorities are convinced that you are a “genuine” student, the GTE status will be issued along with your student visa.

Another cost that international students need to be aware of is health insurance. You will need to have adequate health insurance cover for the duration of your studies in order to obtain a student visa. The specific type of cover needed for Australia is called Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC). ou may also choose to purchase a private health insurance policy to cover the things that the OSHC does not.
